China Taisan is the first enterprise to be awarded the title of “Fabrics China Sportswear Fabrics Pioneer Plant” (“国家运动服装面料开发基地”) under the Fabrics China（中国流行面料）project in September 2008.

This is a strong testament to the company’s product excellence and contributions to the China’s sportswear industry. To qualify for this title, the company has to pass stringent quality audits and checks in ensuring product excellence and strong R&D capabilities. This also includes thorough on-site assessments of the production processes and only outstanding enterprises with advanced technology and equipment, with sizeable market share and strong branding can qualify for this title.

The Fabrics China Project was initiated by China Textiles Development Center（中国纺织工业协会）and China Textile Information Center（国家纺织产品开发中心）in 1999. This is an industry-wide campaign aimed at fostering closer relationships among the Chinese textile suppliers and market Chinese-made quality textile products to the worldwide market. Through effective collaboration along the textile chain encompassing different areas of specialization, the project aims to enhance industry-wide product innovation and the cultivation of strong independent brands.

China Taisan is one of the few fabric producers in the PRC to be certified as being Öko-Tex Standard 100 compliant in 2005. This is a world-wide safety standard and eco-label for textiles. Exports to Europe are usually required to be labelled with the Öko-Tex Standard 100.

To obtain Öko-Tex Standard 100 certification, a fabric manufacturer would be required to meet 100 test parameters, which are set by an association of 14 internationally renowned textile technology institutes and their agencies all around the world, including Europe, US, Africa and Asia. Some of the test parameters include legally banned and regulated substances, pH value (i.e. the measure of acidity or alkalinity), odour and chemicals known to be harmful to health, such as allergenic dyes.

As a testament to our quality management system, we have been accredited with ISO9001:2000 by the CICC Conformity Assessment Services Co., Ltd. in respect of the production of fabrics, dyeing of fabrics and related services.

As a testament to our environmental management system, we have also been accredited with ISO14001:2004 by the CICC Conformity Assessment Services Co., Ltd. in respect of the production of fabrics, dyeing of fabrics and the related environmental protection and conservation activities.

China Taisan is one of the few fabric producers in the PRC that are able to conduct in-house testing of products, under standards set by Intertek. UK-based Intertek is a leading international provider of testing, inspection and certification of textile products.

Most of our testing staffs have undergone the necessary training by Intertek in the procedures involved in the testing methods employed under the Intertek guidelines. Our quality test centre has also been equipped with testing equipment adopted by Intertek.
